Melinda McGullam, LCSW

Melinda McGullam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over nine years of experience counseling
individuals, couples and families in out-patient mental health settings. Melinda’s approach to treatment
is eclectic, drawing upon principles from therapy modalities including but not limited to; Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Humanistic Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Attachment-Based
Therapy. She strives to empower clients to improve their quality of life by helping them recognize and
address self defeating thinking patterns and traumatic distress that may be keeping them feeling stuck.

Melinda’s professional experience includes over twenty years as a medical social worker in acute care
hospitals, a dialysis clinic and a skilled nursing facility. She has worked extensively with issues such as
adjustment to illness, caregiver overwhelm, elder abuse, pregnancy loss, discharge planning, child abuse
grief/loss, and end of life care. She has assisted clients across the lifespan navigate major life transitions
and crises. Melinda has received specialized training from the Alzheimer’s Association and the National
Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.

Melinda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Georgian Court College in 1992 and went
on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in 1999.
